Angola

Angola is a state in south-western Africa on the Atlantic coast, formerly a Portuguese colony that won independence in 1975. Independence was followed by a prolonged civil war that lasted until the early 2000s. Rich in oil and diamonds, Angola has its capital at Luanda and is among the larger economies of sub-Saharan Africa.
