Barbados

Barbados is an island state in the eastern Caribbean, the easternmost of the West Indies, with its capital at Bridgetown. A British colony shaped by a sugar-plantation economy reliant on enslaved African labour, it gained independence in 1966 and later became a parliamentary republic, developing one of the more stable economies in the Caribbean.
