Delhi Sultanate
The Delhi Sultanate was a series of Muslim dynasties that ruled much of the Indian subcontinent from 1206, repelling the Mongols and presiding over a fusion of Persianate and Indian culture, until its fragmentation opened the way for Babur to found the Mughal Empire in 1526.
