Ecuador
Ecuador is a state on the northwestern coast of South America, straddling the equator with the Andes running through it, and its capital at Quito. It also includes the Galapagos Islands. Part of Spanish America and briefly of Gran Colombia, it became fully independent in the 1830s and is a major exporter of oil and agricultural goods.
