Eritrea

Eritrea is a state in the Horn of Africa along the Red Sea coast. Formerly an Italian colony and later federated with and annexed by Ethiopia, it gained independence in 1993 after a decades-long armed struggle. Its capital is Asmara, noted for its modernist architecture. It is governed as a one-party state.
