Gabon

Gabon is a Central African state on the Atlantic coast, straddling the Equator and largely covered in dense rainforest. A former French colony independent since 1960, it has one of the higher per-capita incomes in sub-Saharan Africa thanks to oil exports. Its capital is Libreville and much of its territory is protected national parkland.
