Indonesia

Indonesia, an archipelago of over 17,000 islands and the world's fourth most populous nation, achieved independence from the Netherlands in 1945. Suharto's New Order military regime (1965-98) combined economic development with authoritarian rule. After Suharto's fall, democratic decentralisation followed. Indonesia is a G20 economy and the world's largest Muslim-majority democracy.
