Italian Social Republic (RSI)

The Italian Social Republic (Repubblica Sociale Italiana), known as the Repubblica di Salò, was a Nazi German puppet state in northern Italy led by Mussolini after his rescue from imprisonment in September 1943. It collaborated with the Holocaust, persecuted anti-fascists, and raised forces against the Allied advance and the Italian Resistance until its collapse in April 1945.
