Kenya

Kenya is an East African state on the Indian Ocean, straddling the Equator and rising from coastal lowlands to highland plateaus and the Great Rift Valley. A former British colony, it became independent in 1963 following the Mau Mau uprising. A regional economic hub with a major port at Mombasa, its capital is Nairobi.
