Kingdom of Naples
The Kingdom of Naples governed southern Italy from the Angevin-Aragonese period through the Spanish and Bourbon dynasties. Napoleon made it a client state under his brother Joseph Bonaparte (1806) and then Murat (1808). Restored under the Bourbons in 1815, it merged with Sicily to form the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies in 1816.
