Kingdom of Prussia
The Kingdom of Prussia emerged when Elector Frederick III crowned himself King in Prussia in 1701. Under Frederick the Great (1740-1786) it became a major European power through military reforms and the conquest of Silesia. It led the unification of Germany, transforming into the German Empire in 1871.
