Kingdom of Württemberg

The Kingdom of Württemberg was created in 1806 when Napoleon raised the duchy to a kingdom. A South German state centred on Stuttgart, it allied with Austria against Prussia in 1866 but joined the German Empire in 1871, keeping its own postal, military and railway privileges until 1918.
