Landgraviate of Hesse-Homburg
Hesse-Homburg was a tiny landgraviate north of Frankfurt, restored to sovereignty in 1815. On the extinction of its ruling line in 1866 it passed briefly to Hesse-Darmstadt and was then annexed by Prussia later that year, ending its separate existence.
