Madagascar

Madagascar is a large island state in the Indian Ocean off the south-east coast of Africa, the fourth-largest island in the world. Settled by peoples of both African and Austronesian origin, it was a French colony before independence in 1960. Renowned for biodiversity found nowhere else on Earth, its capital is Antananarivo.
