Micronesia

The Federated States of Micronesia is a Pacific island state spanning a chain of islands in the western Pacific, with its capital at Palikir. Formerly part of a United States-administered trust territory, it became independent in the 1980s under a Compact of Free Association with the United States, comprising several constituent island states across a vast ocean area.
