Namibia

Namibia is a sparsely populated state in Southern Africa on the Atlantic coast, dominated by the Namib and Kalahari deserts. Formerly German South West Africa and then administered by South Africa, it became independent in 1990, the last mainland African colony to do so. Rich in diamonds and uranium, its capital is Windhoek.
