Palau

Palau is an archipelagic state in the western Pacific, part of Micronesia, with its capital at Ngerulmud. Successively under Spanish, German, Japanese and then United States trust administration, it became independent in the 1990s under a Compact of Free Association with the United States. It is noted for its marine biodiversity and reefs.
