Seychelles

The Seychelles is an island state in the Indian Ocean north-east of Madagascar, an archipelago of granitic and coral islands. Settled under French and then British rule, it became independent in 1976. With a small population and an economy built on tourism and fishing, it ranks among Africa's highest in per-capita income. Its capital is Victoria.
