Slovenia

Slovenia, the most prosperous republic of former Yugoslavia, declared independence in June 1991 following a brief Ten-Day War. It transitioned rapidly to a market economy, joined the EU and NATO in 2004, and the eurozone in 2007. Slovenia avoided the ethnic conflicts that devastated other Yugoslav successor states.
