South Sudan

South Sudan is a landlocked state in East-Central Africa, the world's newest sovereign country, having seceded from Sudan in 2011 after decades of civil war. Its territory includes the vast Sudd wetlands of the White Nile. Despite substantial oil reserves, it has been afflicted by internal conflict since independence. Its capital is Juba.
