Timor-Leste

Timor-Leste, or East Timor, occupies the eastern half of Timor island in Southeast Asia, with its capital at Dili. A former Portuguese colony, it was annexed by Indonesia following a brief 1975 declaration of independence and endured a long occupation before a UN-supervised process led to full independence in 2002, making it one of Asia's youngest sovereign states.
