Togo
Togo is a narrow West African state stretching inland from the Gulf of Guinea, formerly a German colony and then a French-administered territory before independence in 1960. Its economy rests on agriculture and phosphate mining, with a major port at its capital. Its capital is Lomé on the Atlantic coast.
