Yemen

Yemen is a state at the southwestern corner of the Arabian Peninsula, bordering Saudi Arabia and Oman and overlooking the strategic Bab-el-Mandeb strait, with its capital at Sana'a. Formed in 1990 by the unification of the formerly separate northern and southern Yemeni states, it is among the region's poorest countries and has been gripped by prolonged civil war.
