Yugoslavia
Yugoslavia was created in 1918 as the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, renamed Yugoslavia in 1929. It was invaded and dismembered by the Axis in 1941; Tito's Partisan movement created the Socialist Federal Republic from 1945. It dissolved into independent successor states between 1991 and 1992.
