David Trimble
Ulster Unionist Party leader who took the historic risk of signing the Good Friday Agreement (1998) and served as the first First Minister of Northern Ireland. Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize jointly with John Hume in 1998. His willingness to share power with nationalists was politically courageous and ultimately cost him his party leadership.
