Ferdinand II of Aragon
Ferdinand II of Aragon, together with Isabella I of Castile, unified the Spanish kingdoms and completed the Reconquista in 1492. He sponsored Columbus's first voyage and signed the Treaty of Tordesillas (1494). His reign saw the expulsion of the Jews (1492) and the beginning of Spanish colonialism in the Americas.
