Henry V of England

Henry V (1386–1422) was King of England from 1413 and one of the greatest medieval military commanders. His victory at Agincourt (1415) against a much larger French force became legendary, and through the Treaty of Troyes (1420) he was recognised as heir to the French throne. He died of dysentery at Vincennes in 1422, aged 35, before he could inherit France. Shakespeare immortalised him as the ideal warrior-king.
