Juana I of Castile

Juana I, known as Juana la Loca (the Mad), was the nominal Queen of Castile from 1504, but effective power was exercised first by her father Ferdinand and then by her son Charles I. Confined to Tordesillas castle from 1509 until her death, she was used as a legitimising figurehead by successive Spanish rulers.
