Louis XII of France
Louis XII, called 'Father of the People' by the Estates-General, was known for reducing taxes, reforming the legal system, and pursuing relatively moderate governance. He continued the Italian Wars, claiming Milan through his Visconti grandmother. His reign marked the height of late-medieval French prosperity before the Renaissance transformation under Francis I.
