Mahathir Mohamad
Mahathir Mohamad (born 1925) served as Prime Minister of Malaysia for over two decades, overseeing the country's transformation into an industrialised economy through the Multimedia Super Corridor and Petronas Towers projects. His Look East policy favoured Japanese and Korean development models. Authoritarian in style, he detained opponents under the Internal Security Act and dismissed Deputy PM Anwar Ibrahim in 1998. He returned to power at age 92 in 2018, becoming the world's oldest serving prime minister.
