Moctezuma II
Moctezuma II was the ninth tlatoani of Tenochtitlan and led the Aztec Triple Alliance at its greatest extent when Cortés arrived in 1519. His initial decision to accommodate the Spanish rather than immediately resist contributed to the conquest's success. He died in captivity in June 1520.
