Oda Nobunaga

Japanese warlord (1534–1582) and first of the three great unifiers of Japan; deployed firearms on a large scale at the Battle of Nagashino (1575), destroyed the military power of the Buddhist monastery Enryaku-ji, and controlled roughly a third of Japan before being assassinated by vassal Akechi Mitsuhide in the Honnō-ji Incident.
