Philip III of Spain
Philip III delegated authority extensively to his favourite the Duke of Lerma and his reign was marked by the expulsion of the Moriscos (1609) and the Twelve Years' Truce with the Dutch (1609). Under him Spain's imperial commitments began to exceed its resources and colonial administration became increasingly corrupt.
