Alessandro Ottaviano de' Medici, pope April 1–27, 1605. A grand-nephew of Leo X and former Archbishop of Florence, he died of a fever 27 days after his coronation. His brief reign earned him the popular nickname Papa Lampo ("Lightning Pope").
