Kangxi Emperor
Xuanye, the Kangxi Emperor, ruled China for 61 years (1661–1722) — the longest reign in Chinese imperial history. He ascended at age seven, suppressed the Revolt of the Three Feudatories (1673–1681), incorporated Taiwan, and expanded Qing control over Mongolia, Tibet, and Central Asia through campaigns against the Dzungar Khanate. A polymath who studied mathematics, astronomy, and Western sciences with Jesuit missionaries, he commissioned vast encyclopaedic projects including the Kangxi Dictionary. His reign established the Qing dynasty on firm foundations and set the template for the prosperous high-Qing era.
