Iran Nuclear Deal (JCPOA) Signed

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), signed on July 14, 2015 between Iran and the P5+1 (US, UK, France, Russia, China + Germany), limited Iran's nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief. Iran agreed to reduce uranium enrichment, limit centrifuge numbers, and accept IAEA inspections. President Trump withdrew the United States in 2018 and reimposed sanctions; Iran gradually exceeded JCPOA limits in response. Negotiations to revive the deal have stalled repeatedly, leaving Iran closer than ever to nuclear breakout capability.
